A strong belief among the devotees is that the blessing of Poornathrayeesha will give you a child, so a lot of persons from far away place come to this temple and pray to the great diety. In Thripunithura there is a ritual that whenever a girl become pregnant in the family she will reside in the temple for one week (bhajanam) eating the 'prasadam' from the temple. Poornathrayeesa will take care of the child in her womb and bless her with a smooth delivery. In this temple the Lord Vishnu is sitting under the great serpent 'Anantha'. Arjuna installed the idol and a great story behind this idol. Vrischikotsavam is the most important Utsavam of the Temple. It falls on November-December. The processions will last for 10 days.
