Elephant ride from Thekkady to Kumarakom

They may be the first couples traveling more than 130kilometers on the top of an elephant.  Berner and Herta from Germany have a great craze for these pachyderms.  They have great desire to climb to the top of an elephant and they are giving thanks to their friend who is running a travel agency at Germany.  He had arranged their trip from Thekkady to Kumarakom.  The elephant was Ushasree Shankarn kutty owned by Raveendran of Ettumanoor.

They are accompanied by two vehicle one containing their luggage and other one carrying the fodder of the elephant.  According to them the journey was very exciting and innovative.  It was a wonder for the natives also.  Kearalites have a great craze for these animals,  but very few have the courage to do such wonderful things like the Burner couples did.
