Vaikom Mahadeva temple 'Naranayingane janichu bhumiyil The very famous prayer about the vaikkathappan.
One of the oldest Shiva temple of Kerala.
Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva or Mahadeva. Main diety is know as
Vaikkathu Perumthrikkovilappan. Temple has a wide area of 8 Acres.
Its structures and gopurams make it a major structure of Kerala.
Vaikkathappan is Annadanaprabhu. A special offering known as 'Prathal'
is the favourite of Sree Mahadeva. 'Vaikkathashtami' is the main
utsavam of the temple.
